What if You're Wrong?
This sermon challenges us to rethink our posture toward others—not from a place of being "right," but from a place of being forgiven. Reflecting on the story of the woman caught in adultery, we are reminded that while the Pharisees were technically correct in their judgment, Jesus—who was without sin and had every right to condemn—chose mercy instead. He saw the woman, loved her, and valued her.
Jesus, the most right person to ever live, was also the least judgmental. His example teaches us that our calling isn’t to prove our righteousness, but to extend forgiveness and love. Pride focuses on being right; humility remembers that we've been forgiven.
Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 13:1–3 remind us that without love, even the most religious actions are empty. We can attend church, serve, and check every box—but if we don’t love, we gain nothing. Prideful people struggle to love well; forgiven people overflow with love.
In the end, Jesus didn’t say people would know us by our correctness—but by our love. Let’s be people marked not by pride in being right, but by humility, grace, and forgiveness.
